Um... I want to ask anybody who knows how to fight...
How do you pick a weapon? I mean... how do you know what suits you best? Do you try them until you figure it out, or do you let someone pick for you? And what if you-

[Simon's going to be chilling out around the stairs at the entrance of community building 7, a sheathed sword tucked against his shoulder, holding an unsealed envelope and gazing at either it or the snow. He's bundled up for the cold, at least, but he doesn't seem bothered by it for once.
Every now and then he'll pull out the letter inside the envelope, read it, and cup his hands around the Core Drill at his neck, focused and intense. Nothing seems to happen though, so he'll quickly give up and go back to whatever he was doing before. As always, Boota is with him, though he's probably buried in the snow by the stairs or wandering around a bit.

That's why he'll settle down into a more normal position beside him, dangling his legs over the side of the bed. ] To tell you the truth, I don't like the idea of you hurting anybody, either. Not unless there's no other choice.

Not wanting to hurt anybody like that. I know that's never going to change about you. [ A little sigh, while he props his knee up and drapes his arm over it. ] But you remember that not everybody's like you, right?

Protect the people that are important to you. [ He puts his other arm out, wrapping it around Simon's shoulders. ] That's what I do.
[ And it's what he'll keep doing, for as long as he's able. He doesn't much care for the Malnosso or being in Luceti in general, but...this is extra time. He'll never regret having it. Not ever. ] Besides, who says we can't work on it and make it less, uh...explosive?

If Kamina thinks it's possible, though, he has no reason to doubt it. So after a moment's thought, he nods.]
Okay. I... I'll keep trying. [A pause.] J-just be more careful where you are when I do!
[ Action FOREVER ]
There's nothing quite like seeing Simon so determined to keep him from getting hurt. ] Oh come on, you know I'm tougher than that! That was nothing!
[ Sits up and ruffles his hair - with BOTH HANDS, because Simon deserves it. ] But if it'll make you feel better I'll wear a helmet next time.
[ Action FOREVER ]

Just like always. [ Grins, giving him a brotherly elbow in the side. ] Now come on, you left your stuff outside.

[He scrambles off the bed, hastily running outside to retrieve them. What a kid he'd been, fleeing thoughtlessly like that.]

Same old Simon.
It's comforting, knowing that. It kinda makes everything worthwhile. Everything. He'll just...lean back and bask in that thought for a little while. Even Kamina needs to slow down now and then. ]
