...If you wanted to share some kind of message with a younger version of yourself, what would you say?

[Simon's in the plaza today, hanging out by the fountain and pondering his journal. At some point he might be scribbling out a note on a loose sheet of paper.]

I'm not sure. I'm still deciding on that. It's kind of hard to think back to what made me worry as a kid now that I'm an adult.

Mm...I think maybe reassuring yourself that things will turn out alright? I remember that I was worried about that a lot when I was a child.

[...Ahaha. In other words, lie?]

That might be a cruel joke to play.

[He's quiet for a bit. Ah, so that's the sort of future he has, hm?]

Ah, I see.

Then perhaps a warning?

Maybe. The trouble is that most people seem to forget about this place when they return home.

Mm, that is a bit of a problem. How do you intend to get the message to him anyway?

I thought about writing a letter. If I end up changing back while I'm here, I can just leave it in my own room and find it later.

Ah, that is a good plan.

It's too bad we can't send letters back home. There is so much I'd tell myself.

I wonder... what I'd do if we could. Would you want to save someone important to you if it meant losing another?

I don't know about that... I'd rather not lose anyone at all. [He laughs slightly and then quiets down.]

Sometimes the people we lose make us who we are, as painful as that is.

I can't deny that. But losing them is a cruel fate, for everyone involved.
