[With all the changes going on this week so far, Simon would normally not be puzzled to awaken and find himself suddenly enormous (in comparison to his usual size, anyway). Instead, he peers around a bedroom he doesn't recognize, brows furrowing for a little while before his eyes abruptly widen. He kicks off the bed, grabbing his journal on the way and hurrying to the window to open it and peer outside.

Yep, familiar. Just as familiar as the blue wings he spots on his back. His journal opens immediately, and-]

Luceti- this is Luceti, isn't it? I'm back again...

[Every seven years, huh. How strange. ...Wait. Is he still...?]

[ Yeah. A ghost.

That had to be it. ] 'Course I'm here! You think I'd just let you hang around here without me?

[ Strides into the room, planting himself right in front of Simon, then subsequently planting his hands on his hips to look him up and down. ]

It has to be the boots, right? Why you get to be taller.

[Simon can't resist a little chuckle at that. That's a familiar line. And Kamina's lack of surprise... seems to indicate that he's seen Simon in this state before.

So he's from that time. Impressive that he was able to keep it a secret like that. Then again, Kamina's always been the master of distractions.]

Sorry, but I got taller on my own. Even without the boots, I'm still a few inches above you.

[ He wasn't going to say it when it didn't need to be said. He knows the part of that's with Simon will never die. And when it gets right down to it, that's what really matters.

But...keeping secrets will always be tough. Especially when the person he's keeping them from is Simon. He's not sure what it is that he feels when he slings his arm around Simon's shoulders, but maybe it's...relief?

Something close. He still doesn't know when or where this Simon is from, though the look in his eye seems to say enough. ] Just don't think being taller means you get to be the man of the house.

[Kamina's touch is familiar, comforting; something he hasn't really felt for years. Simon just indulges in it for a long moment before responding.]

I don't know about that. I'm older than you now.

Whaaaaaat?

You know I can't let you take over just like that. [ His grin is familiar, challenging - happy. He'd never say it, but...he'd missed this. The chance to be like this with Simon.

He'd wanted to see him grow up. ] You'll have to prove yourself first.

[Simon's sharing the grin at once, stance growing tense, ready for anything.] Is that a challenge, then? I'm not a little kid anymore. [He's no pushover, either. Even without Gurren Lagann.]

Alright, you asked for it!

You'll have to beat me--[ POINTS up at the ceiling. ]--to the ROOF!

[ ...yes. ]

[The roof? The roof? That thing above them, 8 stories up?

Heh. Heh heh heh.] You're on. [Which is about when he turns on a heel and races for the door.]

[ Oh yeah baby. ] GET READY TO LOSE, SIMON!

[ And then Kamina is barreling for the doorway, too, putting in a last-second leap to try and get himself out into the hall before his bro. ]

Not a chance! [Kamina may have made it out the door first, but the hallway and Simon's longer legs allow for plenty of room for him to catch up. He's not a little kid Kamina can just outrun anymore.]

Just keep thinkin' that!

[ Kamina can tell. Boy, can he tell.

Funnily enough, he doesn't mind all at much. And he's not above playing kinda dirty, giving Simon a nice heard bump with his shoulder just before they hit the stairs. ]

I'll believe in the me who can beat you up these stairs, bro! [The short bump doesn't cause as much of a hindrance as Kamina might be hoping for; Simon has a heck of a lot more bulk than he had as a kid. He's only a step or two behind Kamina as they head upstairs, and he's easily keeping up with the pace. He's even jumping up a few steps at a time.]

[ Kamina, unfortunately, gets a little held up when he goes PFFFT and laughs - not just because it's funny, but because it's nice to hear.

He'd always known Simon had it in him, but...it's nice to hear it.

...doesn't mean he's going to just lose like that, though! ] You'll have to try harder than that-!

[ Because Kamina just jumped FOUR at once. ]

[You're going to trip and break your neck 8| Simon doubles the pace to keep up, though, taking advantage of the wider staircase to dodge around Kamina. He is seizing the day! And the lead! ..For now, anyway.]

[ You...might be on to something with that, Simon.

Because he does trip, right as he rounds on the last flight of stairs, using the banister to give himself some extra lift to nudge past Simon - and then a sandal goes flying over his shoulder as he faceplants, because smooth floors + flipflops + running = you should have seen this coming, young man. ]

[...Okay maybe he should stop and check on him after that. Not that Kamina isn't as durable as a rock, but- well. Simon will be Simon, after all.]

Aniki?

[ Wait...

Wait...

Wait for it...

Kamina abruptly POPS UP - now with a nice big mark in the middle of his forehead - and takes off up the last flight of stairs. ] You should know better than that, Simon! A little fall isn't gonna stop me!

[....Yep, saw that one coming. Simon can't help but laugh anyway, spinning on his heel and chasing after Kamina. He doesn't mind so much if Kamina wins as long as he's okay, but there's no chance he's going to be far behind.]

[ Well. Kamina does slow down a teeny, tiny bit right there at the very end, pausing an extra second more when he kicks open the door to the roof.

And subsequently gets blasted in the face by snowy wind, but hey, at least they came out more or less even. ]

[Even indeed, especially since the moment that Kamina gets that blast of cold, Simon comes up right beside him, loping an arm around Kamina's shoulders and giving him a shove hard enough to send them both tumbling through the door and into the snow, side by side.

And Simon's grinning like an idiot.]

[ COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD but you know what?

Kamina's grinning, too. Grinning and laughing and rolling over on his side, propping up his head on his chin. ] You know, you're pretty fast, Simon.

Get any faster and you might just beat me next time.

There's no question about it. I'll beat you next time for sure. [And he sounds pretty certain about it, too. Not that it's a real goal, but- how proud would Kamina be? That's what he wants to see.]

I'd love to see you try.

[ He means that. Every last bit of it. He's already proud and it shows - proud and happy, because this sure as hell beats a few minutes spent sending him off again. ]

You can count on it.

[He'll be spending as much time with Kamina as he possibly can, as long as this lasts. He just hopes the memories won't be gone at the end of it.]
