Why does weird stuff always happen around this time of year? Does anybody even like Halloween...?

[Simon might have had more to say, but right afterwards, he hears an odd "buu-buu" in the background.]

...Huh? What- that was-

...Boota!? Hey, hold on!

[With a surprised gasp, he shuts the journal and hurries off. For the next little while he'll be following a little molepig around the village, looking concerned. And is it any wonder that the molepig is running? After all, Simon is trussed up in this costume, and looks quite unlike himself.]

A...mole? [Presea looks at Boota with intrigue. He was awfully cute, and--wait, are those sunglasses? Presea jerks her head up, taking the arrow when it's offered.]

Oh. I--...thank you.

[Simon offers up a smile, then blinks as Boota pounces out of his arms to land on Presea's shoulder, licking her cheek.] Ah- He's thankful you tried to protect him.

[Presea blinks and makes a surprised noise, but her face turns from that of shock into a smile very quickly. The little mole thing was very cute. Too bad it didn't have paw pads.]

You are very welcome. I only wish I did not attempt to injure your companion. [Back to Simon now, but she scratches under Boota's chin with one fingers.] I was unaware you were friends. I was under the impression you were a monster...given your present attire.

[She talks kind of formally, huh? Simon blinks curiously at her, then shrugs it off.] Yeah, I can understand that... this outfit really makes me look weird. Even Boota didn't know me at all.

I believe a high percentage of individuals are without their normal attire presently. I...do not usually dress this way.

[She indicated her cloak and the quiver, then gave his outfit a long glance. He looked like a purple roper.]

I didn't think so. Usually people who fight with arrows use the bows.

Correct. My...weapon is an axe. It is also a tool for my past occupation.

An axe? That sounds pretty dangerous.

Only if used incorrectly. I have been wielding it for a...very long time. [Presea shifts uncomfortably. She felt weird without her axe, even if it was a bit of a reminder of her foolishness with delving into exsphere research.]

A long time? But you look kind of young.

Oh...yes. Yes, you are correct. [This was so weird. She felt so weird, being trapped in a child's body when her mind was that or an adult. There really was something wrong with her, wasn't there?] I...seem to have misjudged the time...forgive me.

Mis... judged time...? [Sob, he's so confused.]

...Nothing. It is not important, my apologies. [Presea looks visibly uncomfortable for a second, but shrugs it off. There's no point is worrying a child over her troubles. He'd never understand any of it regardless.] If...If you are all right, then I should continue on my way. I apologize for assaulting you unwittingly.

No, no, it's okay! I mean... it was nice meeting you anyway. [A pause.] My name's Simon. [I-if she cares. He's taking a chance.]

[She does, in fact! Not that she...openly shows it, but it is nice to introduce herself. Or polite, at least.] Presea.

I should get back home, but... maybe I'll see you around? And Boota, too.

Of course. [She'd actually like that.] Please, take care.
