Why does weird stuff always happen around this time of year? Does anybody even like Halloween...?

[Simon might have had more to say, but right afterwards, he hears an odd "buu-buu" in the background.]

...Huh? What- that was-

...Boota!? Hey, hold on!

[With a surprised gasp, he shuts the journal and hurries off. For the next little while he'll be following a little molepig around the village, looking concerned. And is it any wonder that the molepig is running? After all, Simon is trussed up in this costume, and looks quite unlike himself.]

At least they don't look horribly embarrassing like other people she'd seen! little does she know]

[He wouldn't have paid the caller much attention otherwise - hello, Boota is here! - but the voice is familiar, so he skids to a stop. After that it doesn't take more than a glance to know who it is.]

Anise? Wow, your costume is... [...Kind of freaky, WHAT IS UP WITH TOKUNAGA.]

Yeah, I- [Oh, bah. He lifts off the silly hat, tugging the goggles down to hang around his neck. The hat'll put itself back on his head soon anyway.] It won't let me wear anything else.

Same here! I keep trying to take it off, but it keeps appearing anyway. [She shakes her head, which shakes the hat... thing she has on. She misses her pigtails.]

[Jack is out and about this day in the village, also costumed. When he sees Simon, he stops short. Because this guy looks SO very like someone who...]

Oi---you, what's chasing that pig thing---did you once sail under Davy Jones's command? [Hopefully the sheet is not muffling his voice too badly.]

[Simon blinks at that, looking baffled by the term.] "Davy Jones"? What's that?

[The pirate can tell immediately that this lad is not part of Davy Jones's crew of lost souls. He relaxes and releases the hilt of his sword--none of which Simon can see, of course, because it's all happening under the sheet.]

[Simon cocks his head to one side for a moment, then clues in.] Oh- pirates! Sanji told me about them! No, I don't- um- "sail" with anyone like that. But I'm sort of in a pirate crew, I guess? [The Gurren Brigade acted like a bunch of pirates anyway.]

Hmph. Are you? As am I, for I am no mere walking sheet, but Captain Jack Sparrow, who am are at present as we speak sailing under Blackbeard ALTHOUGH things change all the time and soon I may strike off on my own again. Soon's the boat's finished. You know, that head could come in quite useful-like.

[Standing back, the sheet looks like it's standing with hands on hips as the pirate takes a considering look at Simon's costume.]

[Presea, who is also in costume as Robin Hood (http://hesternic.tripod.com/aragon.JPG), is wandering around the odd looking town. She was trying to find the food store to buy more groceries and some feed and blankets for Noishe, but now she's just utterly lost.

And watches the poor, tiny little animal thing scurry away from an equally odd looking...person? She blinks, then rushes over to help the tiny animal. How? By throwing an arrow right between Simon's eyes. Thankfully, it was foam.]

[The dart catches Simon right on target and he yelps in surprise, flailing dramatically and falling right on his butt. He lifts a hand to his helmet, checking himself over. Oh thank god, he didn't die D8]

[And, much like her costume's counterpart, Presea stands before Simon and the little pig animal mole thing, reaching into the quiver on her back for another foam arrow. She didn't bother with the bow, since she had better aim just throwing the arrows with her hand. She really wanted her axe back. :\

Hm, that...sounded like a person, a child even, but she's not going to trust anyone in this place.]

That animal is unfit to be hunted. Please, locate larger game.

Hunt!? [Oh gosh, it does look like that, doesn't it D8 Hastily Simon crouches down, lifting off the helmet and tossing it aside. Even if it comes back in a minute, as it had all day already, if Boota can see his face...] He's my friend, I don't want to eat him. Boota, it's Simon!

[And that makes Boota peer out from around Klonoa's feet. Is that really...?

And with a far more enthused "BUUU!", Boota does a flying charge and lunges right into Simon's arms, big tongue emerging to lick his face.]

[Oh, hey, it was just a kid under that crazy helmet. Presea listens, and looks down at the little creature as it flings itself into the boy's arms, licking at his face happily.

So, another pet. She feels a bit silly for reacting the way she did, and puts the foam arrow back into the quiver of her costume.]

I...I apologize. I was unaware this animal was your companion. I-I just assumed...

N-no... it's okay. You were trying to help him! I'm sure he's grateful, right Boota? [The molepig grunts in agreement, and Simon offers her back the arrow she'd thrown at him.] Here.

[Gold was out and about, all dressed up in this costume. It was kind of a pain, but no point in just hiding in your room all week until it's over like some people. coughcoughSilvercoughcough A purple monkey rode on his shoulder as he wandered around.

...It too was wearing an eyemask. Couldn't let it feel left out of the fun, right?

So there are two strange sights he spots on his little trek. First of all, he spots the molepig running past him, which causes him to arch an eyebrow. Was that... a Pokémon? But the next sight causes him to stop in his tracks.

Simon, that is the most ridiculous-looking costume ever what is that I don't even.]

[It is awfully ridiculous- about as ridiculous as the costumed character chasing a little pig around. After some flailing and a misplaced helmet, Simon finally manages to catch up to Boota and get himself reacquainted with the little molepig.

It's only then that he realizes he has an audience. ....Erk.]

[Gold walks up, clapping slowly for the victorious boy.]

[Thankfully it kind of flies right over Simon's head.] Boota's always been pretty fast. Usually when he jumps up somewhere I can't reach.
