Does... does anyone know what I can do to help? I can dig holes and tunnels really quickly... maybe I could help with the barricades? I just... don't know what else...

[Simon is hanging around outside the house he and Kamina have shared for a while, looking rather pathetic, sitting in the dirt and sharpening his drill. The house is way too big and lonely for just one person, especially when he's used to living with someone as loud and outgoing as Kamina, so he doesn't really want to be inside right now.

He's been suitably freaked out since the sacrifice post and hasn't really talked to anyone about it, and with both Cloud and Kamina gone now and the entire village working away at protecting it from whatever's coming, he feels pretty lost in the flow of things. Bother? Console? Harass? W/E D| ]

... They got to your brother Kamina, right? Are you staying with your Papa?

[Simon practically shrinks at that.] No... Papa's gone. He's not in Luceti anymore...

[Any other time he might have been embarrassed, or blushing, or spluttering protests, but right now he just really needs it, so he'll accept the hug without question, arms lifting to return it. This is a scary time for kids, and he isn't ready for it.]

That means you've been all alone for a while now, haven't you? I'm sorry I couldn't have dropped by sooner, Simon! I had no idea... [She can tell that he needs it, so she'll just stay that way for now.]

[At that, however, he starts to resist, blushing and tugging back.] N... no, it's okay, I can handle it! I have to become stronger, so I can do what I can while they're gone...

[Then she'll just hang back a little for now, clasping her hands behind her back.] Are you sure? You can't stay all alone at a time like this, you know! Even strong people need a little bit of help.

But... I... [He's worried, and he's scared, and he has no idea what to do with himself.] ...Where am I supposed to go...?

[She ponders this for a moment, before grinning - idea time!] Oh, we have an extra room at our house! You can come stay with us 'til things settle down! ♥

What, stay with you? A... are you sure that would be okay? [He has yet to meet her housemates, but this seems like it should be a big deal or something.]

I think so! You should meet the Colonel, anyway. And I'm sure His Majesty and Nephry would be okay with it - you really shouldn't be alone at a time like this, you know?

W... well. [He can't exactly argue with that, since he really doesn't want to be alone, anyway.] ...Majesty? Who's that?

Oh, Emperor Peony lives with us! Well, it's more like he told us to come live with him since he says the apartments are too small.

Wow... I've never seen a palace before. It must be pretty amazing, huh?

I heard that on my world, there's a city on the surface, but I've never seen it. I wonder if it's beautiful, too? [Bloody unlikely, though. Most of the Beastmen's designs were built for function, not how they looked.]

You should go see it, once you get back to your world! And then you'll have to tell me about it, okay? [Because to Anise, tbey're obviously going to find a way to keep in touch when they go their separate ways. Obviously. |D]
