Does... does anyone know what I can do to help? I can dig holes and tunnels really quickly... maybe I could help with the barricades? I just... don't know what else...

[Simon is hanging around outside the house he and Kamina have shared for a while, looking rather pathetic, sitting in the dirt and sharpening his drill. The house is way too big and lonely for just one person, especially when he's used to living with someone as loud and outgoing as Kamina, so he doesn't really want to be inside right now.

He's been suitably freaked out since the sacrifice post and hasn't really talked to anyone about it, and with both Cloud and Kamina gone now and the entire village working away at protecting it from whatever's coming, he feels pretty lost in the flow of things. Bother? Console? Harass? W/E D| ]

[Anise had been planning to drop by to visit and check on Simon anyway, especially now that things've settled down a little. So she'll be running over!]

Hey, Simon~!

[This is Raine belatedly realizing that Simon is probably off on his own somewhere, as she's been trying not to let Cloud's disappearance keep her from working, and Kamina's barely registered at the time with all the kidnappings at once.]

... There's a lot you can do, Simon. The best I can think of is to speak to a man named Caesar; he's been working on finding a safe place for people who cannot fight to go to.

[Simon looks up at the voice, startled.] Oh, Anise... I'm glad you're okay. [He really is glad of it, even though his enthusiasm isn't showing well.]

But... but I can fight too...!

Those people will need protection as well, won't they? I wasn't implying that you do nothing at all.

...O... oh. Sorry. I'll do that, then... thanks, Miss Raine.

...I'm... I'm okay. I think- no, I'm okay. I need to be strong for everyone, so no one has to worry.

Are you feeling okay, Simon?

Um... I guess... [He's not a good liar at all.]

Cloud and Kamina are gone... I don't know what to do.

[He gets it from his father. Never mind that they're not actually related.]

Simon...[totally not fooled by this.] There's lots of things you can help with, but you need to take care of yourself first.

There's nothing wrong with me... I just can't seem to help anyone. [And he's lonely.]

[She plops down beside him, giving him a look.] Oh, thanks. I'd say the same, but it doesn't look like you're doing okay at all. Something wrong~?

That's wrong. That kind of attitude makes it harder to help.

[She's starting to realize the loneliness, though, as she thinks about who else has been taken recently, and her tone softens.] Are you staying by yourself?

[He shifts uncomfortably, eyes lowering.] People are disappearing again... I'm really worried.

[Hey it's a Locke, coming out of one of the stores after a resupply. Like most of the rest of the populace, he's gone to work on the defenses himself and taken up a watch post for Eugene, but he's got a couple of ~~possibly ridiculous~~ ideas he wants to try out. So he's got a bag in his hand, one that clanks and jinks if it's moved around too much.]

[But then he spots the kid, looking something like his world just ended, and he can take a moment to stop in front of the house, bag over his shoulder.]

Hey, what's going on?

[Fidget fidget.] I'm waiting for aniki and Yoko to come back. [Though he's not sure if they ever will.]

[Simon looks up at the voice, almost as if expecting someone else... then droops a little when he spots Locke.]

Ah... nothing. I'm just waiting...

[Oh he saw that. No one should look that dejected, so that means he isn't going away immediately. Instead he swings the bag around to set it on the ground, crouching down himself on the balls of his feet, not so close that it feels invasive, hopefully.]

Oh yeah? What for?

[Simon's surprised again, since people never really stuck around in his village.]

Um... my brother. He was kidnapped the other day.

Hey, you're Simon, right?

Um... yes, I'm Simon.
