[Anyone around the shop plaza might notice Simon walking from the item bazaar to house 37 dragging or carrying some supplies, namely planks of wood and some basic building materials. Simon's got a little project on the go despite the cold, and he looks determined to get it done. He's wearing Anise's Tokunaga doll on his back.

Residents of house 1 might hear some clumsy construction noises going on close to the building as well, behind the big tree on the right side. Bother away?]

Sometimes. I used to live underground, though, so without the sun it didn't get very warm.

Wow! Underground!? [Thinks about that for a bit.] So you must be a pretty good digger then aren't you!

I do like digging, yeah! [A lot. ...A lot.] My job used to be digging tunnels to expand our village.

Wow! That seems like a really important job!

I think so, yeah. It helped the village a lot.

Hm. Well, you were underground for a reason weren't you? Was there something wrong with the surface?

Yeah... the surface is dangerous. There are monsters and huge Ganmen, and they kill any human they catch on the surface. We can fight them, but... it can be kind of scary.

Yeah that can be a problem. But I can understand your brother wanting to go to the surface.

To see things he hasn't seen before. The sense of adventure can be very strong sometimes.

He said he went to the surface once as a kid, and it was beautiful- a bright blue sky that went on forever. I'd never seen the sky before... it was a really nice dream, imagining it like he'd seen it. But I don't know if I ever believed we'd get there until it actually happened.

...Yeah. Even if it was scary, we made a lot of friends who were okay with how we were, instead of trying to change us. And nothing could be better than when I saw the sky for the first one.

Good friends are the ones that accept you for who you are. You should never let someone try to change that. [Unless you're name is Yuber and you're crazy man who likes to kill.]
