Hey Papa! And everyone at home, I guess... I found a couch outside, and it's really, really comfy! And you can bounce on it! I dunno why it's outside though... it feels nice... who would leave a nice couch like this?

A-anyway! Can we keep it? It can fit inside, right?

Maybe we could get Uncle Zack to sit with us in the living room so he's not stuck in his bed all the time?

[Simon is referring to this monstrosity, left oh-so-kindly by the road near their house in this thread. Since he's blind, he cannot see it. So. Yes. :|]

[oshi drama. ...Aerith figures "lost" is a pretty good description for what happened without requiring a ton of elaboration. Also, lowering her voice a bit because once again, "oshi drama" and on the off-chance that Zack is aware at all right now, she doesn't want to bring up this in his mind.] Yeah. I couldn't call him, and the letters I wrote didn't get to him. ...And he couldn't reach me, either.

[Aww, Aerith. He can hear that tone.] Oh... I'm sorry. I guess I shouldn't ask, huh...

[She ruffles his hair.] Don't worry. It was a while ago. [...well, it started a while ago.] And we can talk to each other here!

Oh. [Was that a dodge? That was so a dodge. Thankfully it went right over Simon's head.] Um.... not really. You came over sometimes, and you were kinda the same, but you were different too, I guess? I dunno what it was. Uncle Zack said you were from really far in the future, like when Papa's from, and a lot had probably changed. Uncle Zack acted different around you than he does now.

[When Cloud was from...she was dead. Death certainly was one of those life-changing events, but the thought that she might change a lot made her feel uncomfortable. How would she change? The Temple of the Ancients--she'd been able to communicate with them, but they'd been so different.]

It was a little weird, yeah. Sometimes I didn't really know if you liked us anymore. But you always smiled, so...

[Sorry, Cloud had been preoccupied trying to see if Zack would wake up. No luck, but Cloud is not discouraged; he just helps Zack to his feet, tugs an arm over his neck and half-carries Zack out into the living room.] Beep beep, you two. Make room.

[This requires a bit of maneuvering, but Aerith picks up the eight-year-old on her lap and moves to perch on the armrest. She's watching Zack, just a little disappointed he's not awake.]

[Simon's watching with his ears, just as disappointed to hear the lack of greeting, but not discouraged entirely either.]

Hi, Uncle Zack!

[They get a muffled, semi-coherent mumble in response. Progress is progress, right?]

[Cloud skillfully clings to Zack with one arm, reaching out to arrange the pillows with his free hand before laying Zack down on the couch and making sure he's comfortable.]

He definitely likes it. I knew he'd like it.

What do you think, Zack? Two thumbs up?

[Zack mumbles again and turns his head to press against one of the pillows, looking more comfortable. A moment later he mutters some kind of affirmative.]

That means he likes it, right? He likes the couch!

[Awww, what a cute family they all are :c Unfortunately it takes a little more than a technicoloured dream-couch to wake up from a mako-coma, so it isn't until a few hours later - after supper, and bedtime for the kids - that Zack stirs again, blinking awake and taking a hazy glance around. The surroundings are familiar, but he can't quite recall the last thing that happened... so what...?
